Imperial Star & CZT Energy USA Strengthen Domestic Solar Manufacturing With New Partnership Agreement

Imperial Star Solar Partners With CZT Energy USA

Imperial Star Solar has partnered with CZT Energy USA, a domestic solar component manufacturer, to bring domestic content to the forefront of the US solar industry.

With this partnership secured, Imperial Star will incorporate CZT's aluminum framing for domestic solar module production at their new Tomball, Texas 2GW PV module facility.

Domestic Content — Made In Texas

The addition of domestic aluminum framing in Imperial Star modules is a milestone for multiple reasons.

First, it will allow customers to qualify for the domestic content adder under the IRA and enable both companies the opportunity to expand their domestic content offerings.

Second, with both companies headquartered in Texas, this partnership further bolsters the Texas solar manufacturing market and provides the region with reliable, locally-made products.

Third, many solar manufacturing companies today are facing problems with over expansion or being forced to downsize. This partnership is one of many in a long line of strategic partnerships that will continue to allow Imperial Star Solar to scale sustainably.

The solar community has been abuzz with the words "domestic content" for years now, only further becoming a topic of discussion with additions like 'safe harbor' being added to IRA earlier this year.

Safe Harbor specifically stipulates that federal tax credit incentives can be earned if a manufacturer obtains at least 40% of their materials from United States sources. Initiatives like these offer not only monetary incentives, but are increasingly more favorable in the eyes of investors and developers aiming to prioritize US-made products.

2GWs & Growing

Imperial Star Solar's 2GW facility uses the most advanced module production equipment currently on the global market. Capable of producing enough annual product to power over 1.5 million homes across the country, the production line boasts an unprecedented 98% automation.

The official signing ceremony at RE+ in Anaheim, California on September 12, 2024 marked a significant step forward for CZT Energy USA and Imperial Star Solar, providing a platform for them to deepen this partnership and discuss plans to continue growing together in the US.

Further domestic partnership announcements from both players are expected in the near future. Stay tuned to closely follow this momentous growth.
